Britney Spears has taken a plea deal in her DUI case, PEOPLE magazine reports.
Spears, 44, was arrested for driving under the influence on March 4th, 2026 in Ventura, California. Her attorney Michael A. Goldstein entered a guilty plea on a "wet reckless" charge on her behalf in Ventura Superior Court on Monday.
Prosecutors had announced prior to the arraignment that Spears would likely be offered the wet reckless plea deal as she "does not have a prior DUI history, there was no crash or injury in her arrest, and she had a low blood alcohol level."
PEOPLE confirmed Spears had voluntarily attended a treatment facility prior to her arraignment.
Ventura County Commissioner Matthew Nemerson sentenced Spears to 12 months summary probation and one day in jail, credited as time served.
"She was fined $571.00 and must attend a three-month DUI program, where drivers complete 30 hours of class time. Her vehicle is authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol. In addition, Spears agreed to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month."
Britney is "grateful for the outpouring of support she has received," Goldstein said in a statement.
