Iconic performer Cher made a series of light-hearted flubs during the 68th Annual Grammy Awards live on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The 79-year-old singer and actress was the surprise guest introduced to announce the prestigious Record of the Year award.

Upon taking the stage, Cher gave an acceptance speech in recognition of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award that she had received the day prior.

“I don’t do this part very well," Cher said, according to E! News. "I first want to thank the Recording Academy for giving me this lifetime achievement award. And it's a good thing that they did it now, because I have good genes and I wouldn't have been here that much longer.”

After a two-minute speech about her career (during which she dropped the f-bomb), she looked around the stage, saying, “That's all I have to say. I guess I'm supposed to walk off now. All right, I have to walk off.”

The Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy award winner apparently forgot that she was there to announce the nominees and winner of the Record of the Year trophy.

“Cher, before you go, could we get you to announce the nominees?” host Trevor Noah shouted as she walked off stage. “I could do it, but it's not the same. I don't have the track record. Welcome back Cher, everybody.”

"After she finally introduced the category’s contenders, Cher began the standard, 'And the Grammy goes to…' bit, but continued to stand there in silence without opening the envelope with the winner’s name."

She stated that the teleprompter wasn't working.

When Cher ultimately opened the envelope, she mistakenly announced the late musician Luther Vandross, who died in 2005, as the winner of Record of the Year. Several sources have reported that Cher actually announced the winner as "Luther Gandross".

E! News continued, "after a bit of laughter from the audience, Cher ultimately corrected herself, announcing Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s song 'Luther,' which actually samples music from the late Vandross, as the rightful recipient of the trophy."

Cher, Lamar and the audience laughed off the moment.
