Following Madonna's surprise appearance with Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella Friday, the pop legend dropped her new song "I Feel So Free" from her upcoming Confessions II album.

"Don’t be a vibe kill. Come on meet me on the dance floor," she sings.

Confessions II is the follow-up album to Madonna's 2005 GRAMMY-winning album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Rolling Stone magazine quotes a press release describing "I Feel So Free" as the first taste of music from Confessions II, but not the lead single. Madonna reunited with producer Stuart Price for Confessions II. Price produced the majority of Confessions on the Dance Floor.

"People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong," Madonna said in a statement of Confessions II. "The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language."

"We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect — with your wounds, with your fragility."

"To rave is an art," she continued. "It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people. Sound, light, and vibration reshape our perceptions. Pulling us into a trance-like state. The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.”

Confessions II is scheduled for release on July 3rd, 2026.
