Kevin Federline: Britney Spears Did Coke While Breastfeeding

A new excerpt from Kevin Federline's memoir claims his ex-wife Britney Spears snorted cocaine and drank alcohol, in addition to taking prescription medications while pregnant or breastfeeding their children.

As we reported on Tuesday, The New York Times shared excerpts from Federline's upcoming book You Thought You Knew, including claims of creepy behavior around their sons Sean and Jayden.

Rolling Stone magazine wrote on Thursday that "the book reportedly contains a scene in which Spears shows up to Federline’s album release party in 2006 with her brother, father, agent, and an unnamed actress. Federline claims he walked in on Spears and the actress 'snorting a fat line of coke off the table.'"

"While Federline writes that he’d seen Spears use coke before, this alleged instance startled him because Spears was still breastfeeding their young kids, Sean and Jayden, at the time."

Rolling Stone continued, "Federline says he later told Spears, 'Please don’t go home and breastfeed the kids like this. Call your mom or someone. We need to get formula. You can’t do this.' He then writes that Spears looked at him with 'instant rage in her eyes. Like she wanted to slap the shit out of me. Instead, she stood up, took her drink, and threw it straight into my face. In front of everyone. My family, my best friends, the whole damn table. I was in all-white. And she soaked me with a vodka cranberry.'"

"Federline calls this 'the beginning of the end' of his relationship with Spears. The couple separated later that year and finalized their divorce in 2007."

"In The Woman in Me, Spears said that she 'never had a drinking problem' and wasn’t interested in hard drugs, calling the ADHD med Adderall her 'drug of choice.'"

"In a response, a rep for Spears said Federline and others 'are profiting off [Spears] and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.'"

Spears posted a statement for her 52.6 million X followers Thursday, in part, and without naming Federline:

"To be loved unconditionally and with a naive heart like mine, always being threatened or made to believe I'm the bad one as they profit off my pain… Oh dear Jesus show me there is a God and I can too be loved unconditionally and not have to be so perfect cause it's really interesting."

"I 100 percent beg to differ the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews."

"... why is HE SO ANGRY ... and what's scary is he’s convincing."

"It literally blows my mind the moments he stops before he cries are you fucking serious … I know his book will sell loads more than mine."

"…the boy hates me and it is deep anger..."

"They get entitled with special secrets as they treat me exactly the way my father used to… yes, they secretly love to cast me out and make me feel completely isolated."

Spears and Federline were married from 2004-2007. Sean and Jayden were placed in their father’s custody following the couples' separation. In 2023, the children moved to Hawaii with Federline. Sean Preston Federline is now 20, and his brother Jayden James Federline is 19.

Federline's memoir is scheduled for release on October 21st, 2025.
