Nicki Minaj Stops Album Release, Says Goodbye to Fans

Updated: 3 days ago

Nicki Minaj appears to have cancelled her upcoming album, and said goodbye to her fans via a post on her official X account today.

"Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music." She tagged Jay-Z, the wealthiest musical artist in the world, owner of Roc Nation, and arguably the most influential man in hip-hop and rap music, saying, "Hope you’re happy now @sc [Jay-Z]."

"Bye, Barbz," she added, addressing her fanbase. "Love you for life."

Minaj had announced last month that the sequel to her 2023 album Pink Friday 2 would be released on March 27th, 2026. The album Pink Friday 2 was released in 2023 on Republic Records.

"To its credit, her fan base has been calling her bluff in response. The replies to the post express full disregard for the statement with fans stating that they simply don’t believe her," reported Rolling Stone magazine.

Minaj had recently posted negative comments on her X account targeting Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation (a subsidiary of Live Nation Entertainment), and its CEO Desiree Perez.

"They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ. I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinooooooooooooooooooo. @sc [Jay-Z] let me find out you gon let Desiree take the fall alone. I don’t blame you. That ugly ass hoe btch gon snitch any way. You might as well beat her to it. conspiracy. False imprisonment. Civil rights violations ???? RUN!!!!!!!!"

"They don’t want me to put out music," Minaj stated in a separate X post earlier today, without naming names. "Me winning makes them feel like they lost. They’re right. However, it didn’t have to be this way. Lots of ppl part ways in business. They know how successful my next album is going to be. Tried to sign Wayne, Drake, me. So they keep wanting to take or stop my money simply b/c narcissists believe what you work hard for belongs to them. Fuming b/c they can’t siphon anymore energy, money, blessings, love, grace, joy, PEACE... the culture. No successful tours. Just vibes & payola. CasiNO"

Variety magazine wrote, "Minaj’s bilious flurry is possibly related to claims that she is owed between $100 to 200 million related to her stake in Tidal, the music streaming service launched and spearheaded by Jay-Z in 2015."

Minaj's X account still shows "3.27.26" in her bio and her pinned post.
