Sean "Diddy" Combs Seeks Immediate Release

Sean "Diddy" Combs filed an appeal Tuesday requesting his "immediate release" from federal prison, accusing the trial judge of defying the jury's verdict during sentencing, according to multiple sources.

Combs was cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges earlier this year, but convicted of two lesser felony charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Filed by Combs' appellate attorney Alexandra A.E. Shapiro, the appeal accuses US District Court Judge Arun Subramanian of having “acted as a thirteenth juror” by imposing a 50-month sentence “based on the very allegations of coercion and other acquitted conduct the jury had rejected.”

"The filing asks the appellate court to vacate the sentence and order immediate release, or alternatively to reverse the convictions or remand for lawful resentencing limited strictly to the offenses of conviction," Rolling Stone magazine reported.

Combs has been in custody since his arrest on September 16th, 2024 in Manhattan by US Homeland Security Investigators after a grand jury indictment on federal charges.

The 56-year-old rap mogul is currently incarcerated at low-security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey, with a projected release date of May 8th, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
