TAYLOR SWIFT'S LAWYERS FIGHT SUBPOENA IN BLAKE LIVELY SUIT

It seems Taylor Swift has been subpoenad to testify by It Ends With Us (2024) film actor and director Justin Baldoni in his $400 million countersuit against his co-star Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane alleging civil extortion and defamation. Swift doesn't like the idea.

A spokesperson for Swift stated to CNN, “The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet'. Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

Rolling Stone reported Tuesday, "In new filings Monday and Tuesday, Swift’s law firm, Venable, called the subpoena an 'abuse of the discovery process.'"

In December, 2024, Lively sued Baldoni (and his company Wayfarer Studios) for sexual harassment and running a smear campaign against her, triggering the countersuit by Baldoni, who, according to CNN, alleged that the Lively/Reynolds pair and their team “hijacked” his film then sought to “destroy” his career.

Lively’s case is scheduled for trial in March, 2026.
